stayed at newmarket inn for a football match. it’s just over 2 miles from the university of sussex, so the location is nice. breakfast was really good, and the evening food was tasty too. I have to say, lauren made the experience special....

I recently stayed for one night and was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of the staff. they were always smiling and attentive, making our experience feel special. The cooked breakfast was exceptional, providing a hearty start to the day. the bathroom could use some maintenance as there was some mould present.

Free Wi-Fi was great, but the bar closed too early at 10pm.

I absolutely fell in love with the character of this place! The staff went above and beyond, even preparing packed lunches that fueled my adventures along the South Downs Way. Plus, the full cooked-to-order breakfast was like a warm hug...  

The Newmarket Inn had clean rooms with modern touches, and I loved the cozy seating area perfect for unwinding after a long day. The proximity to the South Downs Way made it an ideal stop for our walk....

We loved exploring nearby Lewes Castle, which was great for the kids. The inn’s family-friendly atmosphere made it easier to manage our large group, and everyone enjoyed the easy access to local attractions....  

Perfect for a practical stay

The staff couldn't have been more helpful when I asked for a quiet room away from the A27 noise. the cooked breakfast was way better than the usual soggy buffet. freshly made and pretty tasty.

It was a tad pricey for what we got, but still worked out okay.

The state of the premises feels a bit tired, with decor that might remind you of your grandparent's living room. Breakfast options lack variety and quality, showcasing only basic cereals with no fresh pastries as advertised, making it feel not worth the £10 charge. There’s also the constant hum of traffic close by, which could be an issue for light sleepers come warmer months when windows are likely to be open.

I enjoyed my stay at Newmarket Inn while visiting the area for some outdoor adventures. The staff's friendliness made check-in a breeze, and the clean room provided a good base for rest after exploring. some road noise slightly disrupted my sleep. a pleasant experience!

It was just an appropriate option for a short interlude in Lewes with exceptional value. The staff quickly moved me to a quiet room away from the traffic noise, making my stay comfortable. If you're a light sleeper, don't hesitate to ask for a quiet room right away.

This place suits me perfectly, offering free wi-fi, a bar/lounge area, and a car park. The staff helped me with currency exchange on my first stay, which I appreciated. I recommend trying the restaurant. I'm coming back for a city...  

Fantastic location near the football grounds and universities. Kimberley and Lee's hospitality truly stands out. they go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The wood-fired pizza served here is a delightful treat. the facilities could use a bit of updating, and certain areas felt a little cramped during peak times.

Our family had a delightful stay, highlighted by Amanda’s exceptional service. The bar's international menu surprised us—delicious pies and burgers at reasonable prices made for a pleasant dinner. For a peaceful night, request a room away from the A27 to avoid traffic noise.
